Where are Lunchskins made?

From the beginning, our goal has been to promote healthy living and respect for the environment by creating affordable, easy to use alternatives to single-use plastic bags.

At this time Lunchskins bags are made in China/HK. Our B Corp Certification requires that ALL of our partners meet the standards for quality, safety, fair labor, ethical business practices, and environmental responsibility.

That being said, we have been actively searching for a North American / European partner for quite some time. Our bags sustainable material requirements and testing standards make them very difficult to produce. The US/North America does not currently have the required production capabilities, and we are not able to source the sustainable materials required for majority of our products. We continue to actively search for a North American / European partner and are hopeful that in the near future we will be successful.

Our BPI-Certification was also awarded outside of the US due to the fact there are no current BPI testing facilities domestically. We are working very hard with our local regulators to do all that we can to ensure that the US is stringent on sustainability.

Thank you for trusting Lunchskins to both make and market a truly sustainable product.

What certifications does Lunchskins have?
Are your products gluten and/or soy free?

Currently, we DO NOT test our products for gluten or soy.

Our response to misleading claims regarding PFAs made in the recent Mamavation Blog and a related article by The Guardian

We are responding here to the misleading claims regarding PFAs made in the recent Mamavation Blog and a related article by The Guardian. We understand concerns regarding PFAs associated with any product and agree that PFAs need to be taken very seriously.

Lunchskins products are made without PFAs, and we dispute the articles’ conclusions, particularly because they are only based on fluorine testing. We are working with our legal team to address these claims directly with the authors/publishers to correct misinformation and clear up any confusion.

Lunchskins uses Eurofins, an accredited lab in the USA, to conduct PFA testing for all of its products. We do not release products for sale if they contain PFAs, and we can assure you that Lunchskins products are made without PFAs.

We are proud to report that all of our Paper Bags and our new Ziptop Compostable Plant-Based bags are made without BPA, BPF, and BPS.

Please know that as moms we take the health of our consumers and our planet very seriously. We are happy to answer any additional questions or concerns that you may have.

Warmest,

Lunchskins

HAPPY PLANET. HAPPY LIFE.

Are the disposable food storage bags food-safe?

Our disposable paper food storage bags are made without BPA, BPS, BPF, Lead, Regulated Phthalates, and PFAS.

How long do the paper bags take to decompose?

We cannot advise the exact amount of time that it will take for our paper bags to decompose in your home composting process. However, on average it can take 2 weeks to 3 months. There are a lot of variables to the decomposition time, but, you can do certain things to speed up that process.

The amount of time the paper takes to decompose varies. For example, if the temperature drops to freezing, the paper won't decompose. Mixing items like banana peels, bread and strawberries, which mold quickly, with the paper increases the rate of decomposition. Worms will also make the process occur faster.

What are the paper bags made from?

Our Patented Recyclable + Sealable Paper Bags are made from all natural non-wax unbleached glassine — a translucent but very durable form of paper from FSC-Certified forests.

REUSABLE FOOD STORAGE BAGS

1 Lunchskins Reusable Bag Replaces 500 Plastic Bags in its lifetime!

What are Lunchskins reusable bags made of?

Lunchskins are made from a proprietary quick drying fabric that is coated with a food-safe polyurethane liner. This unique high-quality fabric was originally manufactured for pastry bags used in bakeries, restaurants and home kitchens. Additionally, Lunchskins are grease-proof and moisture proof making them ideal for messy sandwiches and snacks.

How do I care for my Lunchskins reusable bags?

Lunchskins reusable bags are top-rack dishwasher-safe. Please turn your bags inside out for washing. You can also wash your Lunchskins reusable bags in the cold cycle, inside out in your washer. We recommend air-drying the bags open to allow for appropriate airflow. Please dry your bags thoroughly before using or storing. We do NOT recommend putting your reusable bags in your dryer.

Can you heat or freeze your Lunchskins reusable bags?

Freezer-Safe
Lunchskins reusable zippered bags are freezer-safe and ideal for short-term freezer storage (no liquids).

Do NOT Heat
Lunchskins reusable bags are not meant to be heated in the microwave or the oven.

How long will my Lunchskins reusable bags last

Some say forever and that's a mighty long time we're hear to tell you! Many of our Lunchskins fans send us emails and share photos with us on social media of their bags. We've seen photos of bags that are over 8 years old and still look brand new. While Lunchskins are extremely durable and can last for years, everyone’s care and daily use routines are different. If you find that you are in need of a Lunchskins bag refresh, don't throw the old ones out! Just retire them for other uses, like holding spare change, gift cards, small game pieces, school supplies, and extra stuff in your car, purse or backpack.

What if the inside of my bag discolors?

While Lunchskins are extremely durable and can last for years, Lunchskins are made from a quick-drying fabric, essentially they are still fabric. Too, the inside fabric is white, and white can discolor over time or when coming into contact with certain foods or other items in the dishwasher. We recommend spot treating any stains with dish soap and a small brush, or, washing them inside out in the washing machine.

Are your reusable bags food-safe?

Our reusable bags are made without BPA/S/F, Regulated Phthalates, Lead and PFAS.
